I live in Bangladesh. I feed my bunnies smart heart pellets, but recently its out of market. Dont when it will be back. Smart heart is the only pellet brand that i could find in this country. So my question is: is it possible to make pellets at home? That have the same nutrition value as pellets?
Please if its possible to make them at home than do provide me with the recipe. P.s. my rabbits dnt like to eat veggies, they love grass and pellets a
Lot. And there are only few veggies in my country that are suitable for rabbits to eat as well.
        Thanks in advance.

Do you have access to grass? Can you get hay? Adult rabbits can live a good life on hay and grass. It’s difficult to make your own pellets, and good pellets are based on hay, so if you have good hay and your buns will eat it, they’ll be fine until you can get pellets again.

If you have a little bit of pellets left, try cutting down on the daily amount and see if your buns eat more grass and hay instead. You should never make any rapid changes to a bun’s diet, so it’s important to cut back gradually – it’s equally important to start them back on pellets slowly when you can get pellets again.

The only other option I can think of is if you could buy pellets from another country, f ex India. But I don’t know how it works with duty and tolls etc between your countries.

I’ve heard of farmers giving buns oats but I don’t think it would be good for them at all.

Yes i cultivate grass for my bunnies. I give them fresh grass instead of hay.
Will that be a problem? I do have just 1kg of pellets left and am giving them in a small amount now. But it makes me sad when i see than they are looking for more pellets. They are my first bunnies and i hate to see them sad. ?

The oats that aare available here are all processed ones made for humans. Dnt think it will b good for bunnies.

You can give a little bit of rolled oats for humans to bunnies, the kind used to make oatmeal from. You can give them like a teaspoon each to begin with.

Fresh grass is what wild rabbits eat, ideally tame rabbit should also eat fresh grass, but in most places that isn’t practical so we give hay instead.
