Yesterday, I decided that I’d start bringing Oliver in the bathroom while I showered to help his URI. I noticed that his breathing was a little whistly but not full wheezing. Sounded squeaky. It’s been like that for the past week. Today, while showering I brought an opened tub of almost finished Vicks and put it in the shower hoping it would mix with the steam or something. After I showered, I left the water running for a little longer and put the tub in front of his nose twice and for a couple seconds each. I sort of waved it around in frountof his face but not too close. He did have a sneezing fit a couple minutes after but it’s now been an hour later. He’s only had one sneezing fit and that was after he was smelling a feather that fell off one of those boa scarves so that might have been the cause. His nose is more runny than usual- I think from the Vicks loosening up the mucus but the good part is that his breathing sounds normal now!!! He’s my first bunny so I was beginning to think the squeaky breathing was normal! His sneezing is still the same and he has a more runny nose, but the Vicks seemed to help his congestion! Just wanted to share this in case anyone else was thinking about using Vicks!!
