Hi guys! How do you groom your rex rabbit(s)? Figment is currently molting and I cannot figure out how to combat it. The hairbuster brush I have that works wonderfully on my non-rex rabbit does absolutely nothing for him. The only think that seems to work is gently pulling the fur out which he hates and I suspect might be a little bit painful. It also just isn’t all that effective for getting out fur all over rather than just the clumps sticking out. He’s starting to look like a diseased animal! Thanks in advance!

I need to use a lint roller on my mini rex. Its the only thing Ive found that works for him

The best things I found for grooming my little Bridge Mini Rex was a Small Animal Furminator and using wet hands to get all those little tuffs and bits off. Wet hands also works great for the belly and armpit areas you can’t normally get with a brush.

Hi bunnyfriend! Wow, we havent seen you here for a long time! We have another member currently with screen name BunnyFriends and it always reminds me of you.

Pumice stones are meant to be good for grooming rex fur. I think I remember reading someone just got one that’s meant for chichillas to chew on and used that. From memory, you were a horse person, so you’ve probably seen them for brushing down horses too.

btw, Figment is a great name for your rabbit!

Thanks everyone for all the advice! I’m going to try these out and hopefully I’ll have a normal looking rabbit again haha.

jerseygirl: I know it’s been forever! I thought I was “coming back” a couple months ago but this past semester was crazy. Good memory – now that you mention it I know exactly what you’re talking about and have one in my tack box that I’ll bring home (it’s called a Slick n’ Easy). Thanks! I call him Fig for short and Figgy Pudding when he’s being extra sweet!
