  I’ve had Cujo for a couple of weeks now. He’s a lionhead and a bit over a month old. He’s free range in my apartment, litter-trained, and has become very affectionate over the past week. He’s been constantly nudging my hand for pets or jumping up onto my lap to get my attention. But when I came home from work this morning (I’m a 9-1-1 dispatcher so I work 12 hour shifts, but I always use my hour lunch to come check on him and spend time with him) he ran away from me. I sat down next to him and let my hand rest beside him and he only sniffed at it, then thumped his feet and ran away from me. I don’t know what I’ve done wrong since he hasn’t seemed to have an issue with my schedule so far and has been all around affectionate for the most part.

  I’m no expert, but it’s probably bunny attitude. I’m pretty much home with my buns 24/7, but if I try and interact with her at times I think she’s just vegging out, Clover will give me a aggravated teenager eyeroll and a thump, sometimes some foot flicks, as if I’ve interrupted something important she was doing. Even if all she was doing is laying over the a/c vent.
  
  These critters can be punks sometimes. I wouldn’t take it personally.

  How old was he when you got him? If he’s only a month now…he shouldn’t even be away from his mum.
  
  Maybe he smelt something on your hands that he didn’t like. My bunnies aren’t keen on the smell of chips and curry sauce. They’ll take treats but then run away lol.

  Thanks! I figured out that he probably smelled a service dog that I work with. That and the attitude seems plausible. He was s back to his usual self before I left for work today.

  Sorry that was my sleep deprived brain. He’s almost 3 months (I meant to type over a couple months instead of over a month) according to the friend I adopted him from (I don’t know how old he was when he got him, but he didn’t know how to take care of a rabbit and knew I’ve had them in the past) He should have just passed the three month marker.
  
  Pretty sure he smelled the service dog that works in my precinct. He’s back to his usual self tonight.
