Can you bring your bun with you? If not I would ask friends or family if they want your bun or if they know anyone that might want a bunny. I would suggest to not give him to anyone with young children (under 10) because most kids are a little rough on animals since they think they are toys. You could post on social media that you are rehoming your bunny but lots of times the people that say they would like a bunny have young kids.

Family, friends, or a bunny specific animal shelter or sanctuary

There are a few chapters of the HRS in Florida, though they don’t normally take owner surrendered rabbits. There are also some other rescues in Florida. I know that the rescues in my area SC and NC stay full, so you might not have any luck with a rescue, although you can certainly try.

It is not recommended to advertise on Craig’s List or similar places, as you are liable to get people who are interested in your rabbit for reasons other than as a companion animal. You can try speaking with your vet and see if they know of any families looking to adopt or if they may let you put up a notice in their office. If you try to find a home on your own, make sure that the people know all about rabbit care and their ways, which so many people don’t know. Otherwise, they may soon want to discard the rabbit.

That does sound like an exciting opportunity! Do you know how long you would be gone for? Is it indefinitely? Also, how much time do you have to find a suitable home for your rabbit?
