It looks like wood pellets for stoves but chopped up in smaller pieces and sold at thrice the price… go with stove pellets

I’ve found stove pellets w/o accelerants but they are miles away and would cost a fortune in petrol to pick up. Otherwise I would

These are half the price of what I’m spending on Carefresh so I’m still saving!  (60L of Carefresh is £19.99, 60L of the pellets is just over £11)

Did you check at uhmmmm big shops that sell stuff to build/renovate homes? They usually have stoves & stove pellets, I usually go there to get my untreated pellets and manage to grab 15kgs for about 4 euros

You could also try farm supply stores, they sell wood pellets for horse bedding that are the same as stove pellets, also nice and cheap.

The ones you posted look safe also

Yeah, unfortunately I couldn’t see whether they were treated or untreated so I thought better not risk it I can always have another look tho!

Unfortunately farm supply shops are quite far, I live in the middle of a busy town  Glad the cat litter looks safe tho, I know I’m being ripped off but I’m being ripped off more buying carefresh so anything is an improvement

Bought the litter and tried it this morning – Buttercup wasn’t bothered by the change, Peanut jumped in and pooped and was a bit wary. He’s okay with it now, albeit a little confused. Think he nibbled a couple of pieces too before deciding they weren’t tasty pellets. Will it harm him?

Thor has eaten a few of her wood pellets and showed no ill effects. I think it is the same as them ingesting wood from chew blocks, not nutritious, but digestible

Both have taken well to the new litter. And no munching it either!
