Hello all.  Today and yesterday I noticed my rabbit Simon has a little mucus in his eyes.  It appears to be a little bit in both of them.  I remember the day I got him he had some but the lady from the shelter wiped it off and said it wasn’t of concern.  That was almost two months ago.  Its not enough that his eye is getting crusted shut but I would love to not let it get to that point.  Does anyone know any possible explanations? Should I take him to the vet now or monitor the situation for a while?

Can you upload a pic? When you say mucus, is it in the corner of his eye and like the sleep humans get in the corner of our eyes?

It’s kind of moving around a little. Not always in the corner.

The picture upload is not working.

If it is clear (not yellow or green) and not a lot (just a thumbnail size), and there are no other symptoms (ie. wet nose, lethargy, change in eating habits), then I think you can monitor it for a little while. It’s normal for buns to get wet or dry eye goobers like humans get.
