Hi all, just a question about nails:
I read that rabbits need their nails trimmed about every 1-2 months, and that you should trim the nails when they extend beyond the fur line. So when we adopted Thor I got some nail clippers and patiently waited for them to get long enough…
2 months after we got her, we had a vet appointment. So I asked if they could also trim her nails so I could see how it was done. They took a look and said “oh no, they look fine, not long enough to trim.” Oh good, I thought, not to worry. Then 2 months later we were back for an unrelated reason, I asked again and again they said her nails were fine.
Now we have had her for almost 6 months, still no nails beyond the fur line! She does dig quite a bit, but the nails she does have aren’t super sharp or anything. Otherwise she is really healthy, and active. Have any of you had experiences with rabbits whose nails just don’t grow? Should I be concerned?
