Bun Bun is loving to hop and climb on things, from the bed to tv stands. What is a good option for her to be safe but have the freedom to roam? She has toys but still get curious and gets into things she shouldn’t when I am not home. I hate to cage her in a small area for several hours if not necessary as she has been good for the most part. Suggestions, advice. Note, I am usually home most of the time except to pick up my daughter from school and like this morning when I took my daughter out for some fun. My MIL is home all the time but she doesn’t care to watch her, just tell me what she got into when I was gone.

They do love to make trouble Is there a particular room in your home that would be easier to completely bunny proof? When we first got our rabbit I also quickly realized I didn’t want to keep her in a small cage or pen, so we found that the kitchen worked well as her “home base” room (with litter box and food kept there all the time). Since there weren’t a lot of cords in there we were able to make it safe and un-destroyable. Then we put up baby gates at the doors so she could be easily kept in there. She still got free roam in the rest of the apartment when we were there to supervise!

Over time she has “earned” her freedom to other rooms when we are not about. This is actually us being trained more than her We learned what she likes to get into and moved things around so she can’t harm herself or our belongings. One thing we had to do was put an x-pen around the TV and wire area so that she can’t chew those cords or jump on the TV stand.

If she likes to climb, I know some people get cat furniture for their rabbits! The carpet is good for digging and chewing as long as she is not able to ingest any.

She had an excerise pen around her cage so she would be safe while gone but she quickly learned to first open the pen, so I clipped it, then she learned to jump over the pen. She does have the loft area and we keep the bedroom doors closed, minus our daughter’s sometime. We may need to look at a cat perch, we have cats so they all can enjoy it.
