Hi all, just looking for a little reassurance really and to query whether this is relatively normal. Basically Peanut and Buttercup sometimes do a sniffy circling thing which I’ve mentioned before. It’s not true aggressive circling that I’ve read about (no ears back, grunting, nipping, biting, fur pulling or anything like that just the occasional tail up but then it immedietly goes back down and a bit of nibbling) more just trying to sniff each other’s bums and inevitably going in circles. Sometimes tho Buttercup will get fed up and will chase Peanut a little and he’ll run away. No full speed chasing it’s just their normal running about speed and I assume if she really wanted to hurt him, she would run faster and he’d sprint to get away. When she ‘catches’ him, she just stops and then they’ll go back to normal and often he’ll groom her. A couple of times she’s put her mouth on his bottom but again, doesn’t bite. He’ll hop away and she’s not left with fur in her mouth and he doesn’t jump as though he’s been nipped.
What are your thoughts? I’m wondering if spring is to blame but as they’ve only been bonded a few months it might be something else?
Forgot to mention, I’ve never had to intervene. It all completely stops on its own.
