I’m having the same problem with bandit. He zooms around in the morning then chills all day and night. I even got him a cardboard concrete tunnel and he looked at it like ‘meh’ and moved on. It makes me feel like I’m doing something wrong. My buns 3 months old

Rabbits are as a rule not very active during daytime. They are a crepuscular species, meaning they’re most active in the mornings and evenings. New things and rearranging furniture does stimulate them, because they have lots of curiosity. But when a place has been checked out and cleared as “safe” they are often very content just lounging all day long. They often prefer to be in the same room as their humans though, because to a prey animal, there’s safety in numbers even when you don’t interact directly and actively.

Just to give an example: It’s not good to house a guinea pig and a rabbit together, for several reasons, one of them being because the guniea pig wants to be active during the day and the bunny needs to rest during the day.

Weird though that Bandit didn’t appreciate his tunnel =/ He might get interested in it at a later date, seing that tunnels are very species appropriate for rabbits..

Yeah, I mean he used it but he’s not like enthralled with it. To me it just seems he’s content and I’m pretty much not giving him bag treats anymore except a alfalfa cookie from oxbow after stressful things like car rides cause he becomes super agressive.

I just finished cleaning some sand earlier last evening (removing harmful dust and other non sand things) now it’s a really fine gravel that I’m going to out in a high lid box and let him dig around in. Thing is that it has to dry for like several hours otherwise I’ll get some muddy rabbit footprints everywhere.

bam’s response, along with your situation knnguy, align with Wick’s behavior, so I think it’s pretty normal. Wick likes to explore around, but now that he’s familiar with the environment, he just likes to sit and nap all day. Not necessarily a bad thing at all, but my belief is if rabbits are bored, they’ll turn to destructive behaviors for attention.
