I added a third bunny to my bonded duo about 7 months ago.. I have a dwarf mix girl named Nagi that was my first(spayed), purchased from a breeder. The second is a himalayan boy name Theo, and the third is a NewZealand White boy named Noah. The latter two were both adopted, from different places.
The bonding process itself was pretty simple, taking about 2-3 weeks but without much difficulty. The first duo, Nagi and Theo let Noah into the group easily, though they seem to be less close to him. For example during afternoon naps, Nagi and Theo might cuddle together while Noah kind of sits off in the corner. But they do cuddle at other times, and the duo grooms Noah quite a lot (whereas Noah doesn’t seem to groom either of them much, though maybe it’s because he doesn’t have any front teeth?)
I find that the two tend to chase Noah sometime though, mostly instigated by Nagi, the small, girl bunny. (of course..) Noah’s the biggest of them all and can be quite clumsy, so he makes a ton of ruckus. Nagi will chase Theo sometimes too, and vice versa, but Noah never, ever, chases.
I’ve seen some tufts of fur on the carpet though never blood, and upon observation, sometimes they’ll stop and show each other their noses, then Nagi the instigator will start grooming Noah? The two boys get along just fine without Nagi around, but she also does like 70% of the grooming in the trio.
Sorry for the long post. I guess I’m just wondering if I should be worried. Frequency-wise, this happens about maybe 1ce a week at most. Here’s a few pictures of them cuddling, if it’s any indication!!
