On Saturday I purchased a lion head baby from an animal swap. He is too little to go outside so for now, he is in my room with me! I am feeding him hay, and pellets. He gets a carrot or apple slice every day. is there anything else I should be giving him? I am worried that I am not giving him enough or too much.

        Thanks in advance!

Hi! Much of his diet depends on his age. Hay in unlimited quantities should be given to buns of all ages, but alfalfa hay is only for buns less than 6 months old. Pellets can be given in unlimited quantities for buns less than 6 months old, but after that should be restricted in quantity. Veggies shouldn’t be given until at least 3 months old, and fruit shouldn’t be given until at least 6 months old and it should be given sparingly.
