My first born Oliver is a free roam bunny. I was cleaning the living room and found some old Christmas ribbon. It was out of Oliver’s reach When I found it. But then I had it on the ground rolling it up when Oliver hopped over and managed to eat about an inch of metal wire from the ribbon in a second or two. I panicked and called the emergency vet and they said to just ” keep an eye” on him for a few days. I’m so upset and terrified that he will die. We just lost our other bun to cancer a couple months ago. Any suggestions or support is welcome. I have him penned up with tons of hay and water right now.

Bunnies really are naughty sometimes aren’t they!
The best thing to do is to make sure he has plenty of hay, veg, and water, and to keep an eye on his litter box. Try not to worry too much, bunnies eat crazy things and they are most often a-ok.

Thank you for responding. They are so naughty! Oliver loves to make me worry. I really hope he will be ok. I went and got him some fresh kale (his favorite). He just pooped and it was strung together. It wasn’t hair. It was some kind of string possibly ribbon. He ate the ribbon with wire like 4 ours ago. Does anyone know how quickly they digest?
