  First- I do not know if this is the right topic for me to be posting to, but I hope so…am having an issue with finding a good idea for housing. I live in a very “flexible” are when it comes to weather. It can get as low as the bellows and as high as 100. My yard is surrounded by neighbors, and the rule is that you cannot keep a rabbit within 25 feet of another property, unless that person is okay with it. Of course I could ask my neighbors permission, but he’s scary and mean lol. I wouldn’t have a problem buyin/ finding hay, straw, pellets, and wood pellets, but I’m having an issue with cages. I am am sure I need something $250 dollars at the most, bu because I am poor parasitical minor that does not what I’m going to do when I have to live on my own. Anyways (I talk too much holy wow I need to get to sleep) I was wondering if anyone could suggest? I can’t build, outside would be tricky, and so would inside. Or not. I don’t know… I obviously don’t own a rabbit ?

  If your bun will be living inside ac and heating will hopefully fix your temperature worries, but always come back here to ask questions!

  So just some questions: do you plan on getting a small rabbit? Are you hoping to house it inside? (By the sounds of your neighbour, I would be!)
  
  A large dog crate may be an option. Second levels can be added if it’s big enough. Only suitable for indoor housing.

  Love the crate setup Jerseygirl. Brooklyn, those upper temps sound bad for a bunny. An indoor crate would be the best option. You could look online for a used dog crate? That being said – I don’t use crates or cages. but I’m lucky enough to have a spare bedroom. For a while, I had one of my pair in my room. I gave them a few litter boxes (one in each room they had access to), and a few cardboard boxes for privacy and play. They had a few other toys scattered around, but no cage or crate to speak of. For a new bunny – I think you should get a confined area to start litter training. It doesnt’ even need to be a crate. It could be a dog play pen, which is a lot cheaper than a crate.

  I also like this condo made using an exercise pen. It would require a bit of building but most hardware stores will cut wood to size for you. Exercise pens can be quite affordable in online sales.
