        Hi,
My girl Pippin is just over 4 months old and she is acting strange ever since I got her. She will quite happily eat out of my hand but if I try and stroke her she runs away or will scratch my hands quite badly. She also does this if I try and get her out of the cage. She also runs in the cage and fires her urine all over her cage. I really need help on what I should do next. Ive tried sitting with her but she just runs away. She never used to attack before, but she has always run away from being petted. Please help

Hey Ellie. I’m sorry this is happening to you! I don’t know if the situation is the same for female rabbits, but this seems like the typical pattern for male rabbits when their hormones begin kicking in (around 4-6 months they say). Spraying is commonly done as a hormone-driven behavior to mark territory, to my knowledge.

I’d say it may be time to have Pippin spayed by an experienced vet.
