  So after two years of grieving the loss of my babies Bunny and Jack, I’ve finally found myself being happily owned by bunnies again. This forum was so helpful with them, so I’m back for for help!
  
  The day before my birthday I got an 8 week old flemish giant. Then after my boyfriend’s kids fell in love, he gave me the okay to get another. So I found myself picking up a NZ/CA/silver fox/flemish mix the next day.
  
  I tried to sex the flemish, Ragnar and was about 95% sure he was a he. So I wanted a female (in case I was wrong), and so I made sure Thea was a girl.
  
  I had already planned on neutering him before I got Thea but now that I have her it won’t come soon enough!!
  
  My issue is that everyone keeps telling me different times in when I should fix them. Ignoring all of the advice to not do it…what is true?
  
  I would like it done asap for convenience since they’re separate and it’s a pain. They also love each other and so I feel bad they can’t be together.
  
  The vet I called said they could spay and neuter at 4 months. Some people are telling me that I won’t be able to spay her until six months but might be able to neuter him earlier. And others are telling me that if I don’t wait a year that I will mess up their growth and it can be bad for them.
  
  Bunny was two when I spayed her and Jack was neutered when I got him so I didn’t have this issue! I trust all of your input so much so thank you in advance!

  Hi CrossCottontail! I think it’s different for every rabbit; it’s a normative curve, with 4months being the mean, but I think once your vet looks at parts, he/she can make the best bet on “okay, now is the time”.
  
  Wick is at the age where he should be getting neutered, based on the 4-month rule, but he’s a runt, so developmentally, his parts are not there yet— this is something my vet was easily able to tell me, and when the time is right, we’ll know.

  We spayed my girl at 4 months old. My vet with me prior to surgery to make sure she was ready.

  I had both my male and female done at 4 months old.

  I got my male done at 6 months. My very good rabbit vet said that the best time to get girls done is 5 months, as then the womb isn’t fully formed so has less blood supply and is easier to remove…
