Eh… it’s unnecessary. Just like chocolate is for humans. Not necessary, a little bit probalby wouldn’t hurt, a lot would definitely hurt, and we could get some serious sugar cravings from a steady diet of chocolate. Your bunny would probalby looove honey. But their digestive system isn’t built to handle that aount of sugar. Like other’s have said, the small amounts of sugar found in veggies and greens is acceptable. Fruits should be limited. Honey should be considered a human treat and not fed to bunnies, so that you don’t get into the habit of feeding sugary things to your rabbit. Too much will upset the important bacterial balance in the cecum. My little guy Lancelot is a sugar fiend. His previous owners fed him chocolate. Today – he goes nuts when he smells sweet things. But sadly for him – I don’t give him sugary treats. I don’t give any of my bunnies sugary treats. Their treats are bell pepper and radish.
