Tommy has started sleeping in our bed at night. We don’t really like this seeing is how if for any particular reason he uses peeing on dad’s side of the bed as revenge, so we were trying to keep him off our bed obviously. He used to sleep with his brother the pittbull and then when we got the puppy he started sleeping next to her. I had woken to find him next to his dad’s feet a week or so ago, didn’t have the heart to kick him off the bed. Now it’s every night and he’s sleeping right in-between us, it’s sweet but also worry some like we could accidentally kick him off the bed or roll over and squish him. Also it seems like all the walls are fair game. He had a few hiding spots where he was pulling plaster off the walls and lately he’s doing it right out in the open. He’s a very bad handyman and I’m pretty sure plaster can’t be good for him. Very worried that he’s bored/lonely.

Hi:-D!!! I believe he is jealous or something. Do you spend time with him during the day? Bunnies are very social animals and they love to hang around with you, to spent real time with you.And why you let him sleep in your bed? For example my bun is free to roam in the house all day but at nights we lock her in her room with toys and stuff, by the way how you managed to sleep with him? One night we let her in our bedroom and as a result we couldn’t sleep because whenever our eyes were closed she was jumping on our heads to wake us up to play with her :-D! Now about the walls yes maybe he is bored or he plain loves to chew things. For this you can buy willow sticks and give him to chew them instead of the walls. Moreover you can make really simple DIY toys for him or you can adopt another bunny 🙂
          One last question,is he neutered?

            Is your bunny free range?
If so then he might be used to his surroundings thus getting bored
Bunnies that are free range and not very young and active tend to get bored and exercise less.
Of course getting another bunny would occupy him, but maybe that will make matters worse as they both can destroy things
Obviously that doesn’t mean don’t get another bunny because you could bunny proof things to your liking
Not all bunnies need a partner but only few are like that.
If he seems a little depressed and destructive those can be signs of loneliness /boredom
Giving him a digging box and grass mats for him to destroy could occupy him and deter him from ruining your house if you put them where he has been “busy” lol

I would, if possible , keep your bun off the bed Peeing, pooing and the potential to squish him isn’t worth it, maybe a high puppy pen can go around it when you’re not there and when you’re sleeping?

Paige has some great ideas with entertaining him. Changing things around, new toys, digging areas are all great to keep them occupied. I’ll admit though, there’s nothing quite like two bunnies snuggling

From the top, yes Tommy is neutered. We’ve had him for 1½yrs now. He has run of the house except for our bedroom and the mess room. At night when we (people&dogs) go into the bedroom, Tommy goes around and tucks in the dogs. He has a dog bed of his own but preferred sleeping with one of the dogs until recently when I woke up and found him sleeping in bed with us. He doesn’t pee or poop on the bed when we’re in it. We keep our bedroom closed while we’re not in it sleeping. Last night I awoke because my feet were warm, which they never are, to find Tom snuggled right up against my feet. He has a dog crate/condo but only gets locked in there for punishment. I honestly feel like he’s feeling neglected during the day when we’re working and wants to be with us even if we’re sleeping. It’s too sweet to find your bun stretched out at your feet sound asleep. It’s been about a year since we lost our Lilly, Tommy’s bonded buddy. We haven’t tried bonding him to anyone else because our hearts are still broken over Lilly (she died at about 6months old from gi stasis).

I’m very sorry about your past rabbit, gi stasis can take over so quickly. I think that giving attention while you can, getting him a stuffed animal(if he doesn’t already have one) and giving him a couple more toys can occupy him while you are recovering from your loss. I would try to get him a partner soon though as he seems a little lonely. It sounds like you care about him greatly and getting him a partner is not a replacement(as many other people would say)and will benefit youpeople in the end.
