Hello everyone, I’m new here so I’m sorry if I got the wrong forum for this question… Some contractors are coming to repair the stairs in my house. My 1-year-old female dwarf rabbit lives in my room on the second floor, and I’m worried that the noise from the stair work will be very stressful for her. What can I do for her to make it less stressful? Or am I just overreacting? She’s my first bunny, so I’m still kinda new to all this!

Hi! I would just keep her where she is, since usually moving a bun to an unfamiliar place is also stressful. Will you be there while the contractors are working? The best I can think of right now would be to close the door to your room and try to sit with her while they are there so that she is not alone. She is likely to handle it better if you are with her.

My bun likes if we leave the tv or radio on for her, we always have something on when we are home and leave something for her if we are gone. We’ve found that if there is nothing on she get very reactive to every noice she hears

You could cover her cage with a blanket to block some of the loud noises?
Maybe provide some chamomile or some cooled chamomile tea as well to calm her nerves

Thanks everyone for the tips. I never knew bunnies could drink teas! But I guess it makes sense as long as all the ingredients are rabbit-safe herbs and no caffeine.

You could also give her some pet rescue remedy. It’s a calming solution
