I have this cage at home and wanted to know if it was big enough on its own. I’m not planning on getting a new rabbit, still mourning the loss of my beloved Chewuby. I was just wondering if this was big enough on its own or if I would need to attach a pen to it to meet the size requirements.
(Yes I did keep Chewuby in here before but he was an elderly dwarf who had lost function in his hind legs so he didn’t move around anymore. He needed everything fairly close by. also I took out the hide hole since he never used it)

you may not want that cage because I have a similar set up and the cage rattles a ton. I also sleep in the same room as my rabbits, so if you are in different rooms it should be fine.

Yes it will absolutely need a pen attached. For a healthy rabbit I wouldn’t even recommend it as a night time cage or when you’re out cage as it’s very small. I can see how it would have suited your rabbit with mobility issues well.

That is waaayy to small :-/ My rabbits had cages about that size but they were only used as their home base. They were never confined to them. That’s the only way that cage would be appropriate.

Like everyone’s said, attach a pen. Personally, I dislike cages and I’ve only ever use the bottoms of them as litter trays!
