Greetings! I recently got a rabbit, about a week ago, and when I got him they had no idea what his age was as this shop is more of a trade place. You bring in your accidental litter or pet you can’t care for and the shop keeper will sell your animal and give you part of the cut instead of buying from a supplier. Not exactly a shop, not exactly a shelter. He (My bun) looks and acts young, but I don’t know the exact age. What kind of hay should I be feeding him? What type of pellet? Timothy or alfalfa? It’s confusing as I only want to provide the best possible diet for him. Advice?

          Hi there and welcome

If you can post a picture of your bunny we’ll be able to give you a better idea of age. Here’s a thread that shows you how to do that: https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/aft/144934/Default.aspx If in doubt, I’d simply suggest feeding a grass hay (timothy, orchard, oat etc) and a timothy based pellet. Alfalfa hay and pellets are recommended for youngsters but they won’t get ill if they don’t have those things. But too much alfalfa for an older bun can cause problems.

              How gorgeous

You’re right, he looks youngish, but I’d say he’s at least 4 or 5 months old. So you’ll have no problem feeding timothy based pellets and hay
