Yes it’s definitely a possibility, mine free roamed but still had multiple places to eat, sleep and poo. Only thing I did find tricky is that I always had to check where I put my feet down!

Litter training piggies is really hard, or it was for me, but they can sometimes choose a favourite spot to go

Mine were blocked off from any furniture though as they can get in some ridiculous places!

I was never able to litter train my two boys that I had in high school. They pooped all over the place so I just let them out for run time and cleaned up after.

Didn’t see your reply! Apologies for replying late, yes it’s the same as rabbits in a way: scoop poo and put where you want them to go. I found mine weed in a certain place but their poo was everywhere sometimes (which is easiest to clean). Mine were female, not sure if that makes any difference as little said hers were male? Unsure if females are cleaner but perhaps I was lucky.

I’ve had 10+ piggies over the years and I find it completly depends on the pig. Of the 3 I have today, one basically litter trained himself, while the other two will not take to it no matter what. Mine live in large c and c cages-but they do like supervised roam time.

It depends on the specific pig. My two couldn’t ever be free roaming for 2 reasons: 1) rabbits and guinea pigs should never live together in the same space, and my rabbits are already free roam (not only for the many health risks, but also my rabbit Eve is very territorial and would just demolish my guineas if she had the chance), and 2) one of my boys just. Won’t. Litter box train. It’s much harder to litter train guinea pigs than bunnies, I’ve learned!
