I was playing a simple game with Autumn today, (trying to ease boredom) teasing her with a piece of Raffia (looks like a long, flat piece of straw), holding it near the side of her face and then moving it and eventually letting her grab it. But I noticed something alarming, she would turn her head the opposite way of the Raffia ribbon and open/ close her mouth as if to grab it and even made a tugging motion to get it from my grip, as if there were a second piece the other side of her head, but there was nothing there. It worried me that she may have a sight problem, but she seems in good health (bar her sore hocks) and can see even small things perfectly well. Can this odd behaviour be explained?
On a lighter note, she loves playing with Raffia ribbons, goes mad for them.
Especially when tied to furniture and she can tug and chew them. It’s also great for tying on bits of food and treats or soaking in fruit juice as a simple toy.
