You can use fleece. That’s a safer material than towels, but you still don’t want your rabbit to ingest much of it.

The cage that you linked to is almost 2 feet by 4 feet, which is the recommended minimum for a rabbit, but it is not tall enough. A rabbit should be able to stand up in its cage. It also looks like it just opens from the top. It’s best to have a cage that opens from the side so that the rabbit can easily come out on its own for play and exercise – in a bunny proofed room. A rabbits needs several hours each day out of its cage for exercise. If you look at the BUNNY INFO link, there is a section on habitats. Most cages are not big enough for rabbits. Other enclosures for rabbits are large/extra large dog crates, x-pens, or the pens that you build yourself out of the wire cube grids.

You can house 2 bunnies together. They have to be spayed and neutered and properly bonded. You would have to have an adequate sized pen, like an x-pen to house them in. There are rare occasions when a bond doesn’t work and the rabbits have to be housed separately

I agree with the above, the midwest cage isn’t big enough. Firstly it’s too short, and secondly you would also need to attach a playpen onto it for extra space to run around in during the day when you’re home.

Fleece can be used, I use fleece for my pair, however unlike guinea pigs which don’t really ever chew fleece, most rabbits do. My pair occasionally chew their fleece, a little hole here and there. But they tend not to ingest it, if your rabbit chews fleece a lot and eats it you will need to take it away. But as a general rule, rabbits don’t need bedding, just soft place or two to lie down if they want.

And yes, two rabbits can be housed together. From what I’ve seen of guinea pig bonding, rabbit bonding is harder and more uncertain. Just because you have a neutered male and spayed female, does not mean that they will get along and you may end up having to house them separately permanently. Bonding can take a long time (months) and you will need to house them separately for the entire time you are bonding them. Which is why many people opt for adopting an already bonded pair from a rescue.

Are you set on a Nethie? I have 2 and think they’re lovely but in hind sight I would not get another! They’re squished faces has left me with 2 bunnies with bad teeth requiring dentals every 4 months. My vet compared it to buying a designer dog like a pug. Not ideal. They’re also very highly strung! Much more skittish than other breeds x
