I decided to get my bunny spayed, so she went in for initial vet visit and got bloodwork taken.  Then we scheduled her spay so I took her in and they performed that.  When I took her home I noticed her front leg’s shoulder/chest area was super swollen!  Like a big sack of fluid was pooling.  When I called the emergency vet she told me it was from the subcutaneous fluid they administer, and my bunny just happened to react that way to it but it was normal.  The next day she wasn’t eating, no poops and grinding her teeth.  Even though I gave her Meloxicam (pain/anti-inflammatory med) she still seemed to be in a lot of pain or discomfort.  The vet suggested that I bring her back in. They started feeding her Oxbow Critical Care with a syringe and gave her a medication to help her bowls and hopefully get things moving.  After the day at the vet they said she was more alert and eating some greens on her own so I could take her home.  Now she has been eating greens on her own (no pellets yet, not too much hay either).  But I’m just glad she is not in pain anymore!  All this is $850.00 (Canadian) later but she is my baby so it was worth it!
