I don’t have one I just have a phone with protective wallet cover which I have cards I need in
I’m a college student, so my purse is my back pack.
I don’t like bags/purses. I carry one when I need to, such as to work. Otherwise I just take my wallet, phone and keys in my pockets.
However my work bag includes:
Lunch box
Drink bottle
Wallet
Phone
Work keys
Hair brush
My jacket if I think I might need it
I have a backpack instead of a a purse, I have survival stuff in it. Self-adhesive bandages, a knife, a lighter, make up, a hand held gps, band aids, hand disinfectant, paracetamol, allergy pills, phone power bank and charger cord, a rain poncho, mosquito repellant (only during summer), some cash, dog poop bags and extra batteries for the gps.
Good to know, someone else carries the whole first aid department with them, I also have an umbrella in mine, because the weather here is very moody. I also have reuseable bags.
small pen
ulcer medication
eye drops

Make up counts as survival stuff?
I take most of that stuff if I’m going hiking or out doing bird photography.
I do the wallet & phone, keys thing too. I don’t like lugging around a bag and it would normally end up collecting a ton of rubbish, to be honest!
I do take a bag to work, not really a handbag/purse though. Sometimes it’s just a reusable shopping bag. Fancy! At the moment, its just a fabric tote. Im not really sure what I’ve collected in there by now. Probably some hay. That ends up everywhere. And bunny fur.
^My work bag is fabric tote too, it was sold as a reusable shopping bag, five bucks from Target I think. lol.
I didn’t include the rubbish in the list of things Mine gets lots of that too.
Did we have to list the rubbish???
Bam. Rotfl. Didnt realise you lived in the notoriously dangerous nordic forestland of Sweden !!!!
When reading.it, I thought I was reading Q8s reply…!!!!! (Oh no, she would probably have a hand grenade in there too….. )
And maybe some bear spray…for the scorpions? ^
We should do a “what’s in your car?” list. Mine worse then my bag with collecting things that make little sense. Like the tin of cat food that’s been in there for over a year. And I don’t have a cat…
Yay for me if I ever get stranded for 24hrs somewhere out of phone range.
You’re thinking of my bugout bag, Vee. I’ve had two confiscated at random police stops Expensive to replace everything but in this part of the world, wise. The third one (I’m working on one again) has bunny stuff too now
What’s in my Handbag:
Fuel receipts and payslips
2 Credit cards that I don’t use
Pills (The pill, headache tablets, sleeping pills – lol)
Deodorant, body spray and perfume
Lip balm
Chewing gum
E Cigarette & liquid
Purse
House keys
Car Keys
4x USB memory sticks
Power bank
Phone charge wire
Ecig charge wire
Random headphone jack to headphone jack wire – I’ve no idea why I would even need this…
Ridiculous haha
In my car:
Fuel tank & fairings off my bf’s road racing motorbike
A motorcycle helmet
A bag of wood pellets for bunnies (open – accident waiting to happen)
A diagnostics machine for reading car fault codes & manual for it
Phone & Ecig charger
Gym bag
My favourite pair of Iron fist shoes – Just incase
I feel I need to have a clear out
Ties for most entertaining so far – with Bam’s
Both winners, in different categories. Survival in the wild. Survival in town !! rofl !!
Az, of course makeup counts as survival gear I live in a town with a population of 140 K.
My bag isn’t too exciting:
Wallet (it has rabbits on it!)
Keys
Phone
Pouch with Insulin etc in it
Hand cream
Cuticle balm
Compact mirror
Oil blotting tissues
Kleenex tissues
Lint roller
Diary & pen
Manicure set
As for the car, aside from the usual ice scraper, auxiliary lead, sunglasses etc I also have a Jurassic Park dvd box set in there
I can’t carry a regular purse, because I hoard too much stuff and those shoes are cute! Axgizmo. I can’t downsize:/ I also carry a lot in my car, my trunk looks like an army surplus store.
I also just carry a phone and a wallet. I have huge coat pockets that keep lots of stuff in: hand lotion (I have super cracky dry hands, if I don’t use lotion for a couple days they start bleeding), Peculiarly Perfect Peanut butter Peppermint Lip Balm, Starbucks napkins (I haven’t even been to Starbucks in a few months, so you can see how often I clean out my pockets), Breath mints from random restaurants I go to and take a couple as I leave, Steak and Shake coupons that I keep even though I never go to steak and shake (Only kept them just in case I get to go there for buy one get one free milkshakes!), a small bag of dog food (use as treats), Phone power bank and charger cord, a compass, sewing kit, and hand sanitizer.
OMG, Reese, you crack me up – all that random stuff is in your coat pockets? Is it a Mary Poppins coat?
Is the lip balm as yummy smelling as it sounds?
Let’s see…
Wallet
Coin purse
Pill bottle with random pills in it
Expired PoGo cards
Phone
Lip Balm
Movie tickets from movies we saw years ago
Fold-up hair brush
Purse hanger
Gift cards from Christmas I have yet to use
Band-aids
Small tape measure
Lol, I’m a lot like you Reese. I don’t like purses as well, so most of my stuff goes into my coat pockets:
Keys, wallet, phone, lip balm, tissues, 2 months of grocery lists
For the rest of my stuff I always carry a backpack, because NL has banned free plastic shopping bags. According to my boyfriend it’s a “bag of holding”, D&D geeks will know
In goes:
3 large recyclable grocery bags, hand cream, warm gloves, allergy inhaler, spare medication (allergy pills, pain killers, muscle relaxants, antacids, some paracetamol for my BF’s headaches), my planner, several pens, emergency lady stuff, earplugs (one pair of general ones and one pair of special bass cancelling ones for cinema or music events), and finally a book or a small piece of crochet or knitting (I usually take ample time when I need to go somewhere by bus, because I can’t run to catch my connection).
The shoes are beautiful, AxGizmo. I’m more of a hiking boots kind of person nowadays.
This sounds like fun! Lucky for you guys I just cleaned my purse!
I’ll update in a minute with what I’ve got.
I’m just going to list as I go through the pockets haha
(My pocket knife is always attached to me somewhere though, I don’t put it in my purse in case I need to quickly grab it)
WHAT’S IN MY PURSE:
pocket 1)
Hand sanitizer (Winter candy apple scented)
Cruelty free matte lipstick/stain
change
survival tool (compass, whistle, thermometer, tiny mirror and magnifying glass all in one)
2)
My wallet
loose money and a ton of loose change
A walmart gift card that I think only has about a dollar on
3)
Comb
chapstick
deodorant
loose stick of gum
lotion (Tahiti Island Dream, bath and bodyworks)
Band aids
4)
Girl stuff
gum
lotion and body spray (Twisted peppermint bath and body works)
body mist (vanilla frost)
Loose change
A tightening dog leash to catch stray dogs without collars
a regular dog leash
a ziplock bag of dog food
5)
Loose dollar bills
band aids
A tiny paper heart
a lipstain, a lipstick and a lip gloss
mascara
tweezers
Red sharpie marker
mechanical pencils
Great ^_^ I’ll need to show this thread to my boyfriend, showing him that it’s perfectly normal behaviour to be well-prepared. He’s complaining about me being a pack-rat. Luckily I tend to save stuff for later, my neighbour still thanks me for it. Her house was broken into and her lock was demolished, I still had the old lock that we changed some 1,5 years ago. The police asked me if I could lend it to her for the night so she could lock her hosue again, See? Always useful.
AxGizmo – have you been to the Isle of Man TT? I live in the town where the NW200 is held, one of the other notoriously dangerous road motorbike race tournaments. Never been to the TT but would love to go, I have been to the Isle of Man though
In my purse I have
My purse (lol or wallet)
My beats head phones
Notepad
Umbrella
Kindle
Phone
raybans
Car and house keys
A packet of envelopes (random haha but I had to post a letter today and didn’t have any envelopes so had to buy a pack)
Vaseline
Various lipsticks
Some random letters and bills that still need dealt with
paracetamol
I’m just shocked this thread caught on so well.
LOL, the purse has been a mystery to the male part of mankind for ages.
How many ladies have heard their men complaining: “What are you carrying in that thing, an anvil?” ?
Hehe, this thread would be great to show to your SO, just to show: it’s perfectly natural to be prepared. This is a women’s thing.
Ellie, sometimes I ask myself if there’s an anvil in my back-pack. It gets so heavy =)
I wear a backpack to work, so I can carry my laptop with me. So let’s see:
– Laptop (no charger, I keep a spare at the office)
– USB mouse
– Notebook & pen
– Lunch bag
– Foldable grocery bag
– Lipstick
– Ipod pouch
– Mints & gum
– Chapstick
– Wallet
– Mini wallet with rewards cards
– Emergency bag (pads, tampons, bobby pins, safety pins, compact mirror, band-aids, pain killers)
– Tissues
– Mini hair brush
– Lab keys
Add rain cover for the backpack and a pair of rain pants when it’s supposed to rain!
House and work keys, plus cell phone, are usually in my coat pockets.

I have yeah, I go every year for the Manx Grand Prix (Classic TT) and have been once or twice to the TT earlier in the year. I love the IOM, it is a beautiful place, my Dad lived there for a few years with work so I’ve spent plenty of time over there.
We will be coming to Ireland this year as my BF is a Road Racer himself. I’ve only ever been to Dublin so it would be nice to see some other parts of Ireland!
PS. Bike fairings are still in my car…
I’ll get a headache if I stay upside down for long
I notice lots of people carry girl stuff, but I don’t. If I notice when I’m not home, I just use toilet paper.
