  Hi,
  
  i have bought two Rabbits (9 months old) duo and buck NOT brother and sister. mini lop.
  
  the previous owner told me they leave together since birth.
  
  they are on a big cage all day and let them run together for a couple of hours in the garden everyday.
  
  they have started mating like three weeks ago and the Due started putting off some of her fur but she still looks small and tiny compared to the buke.
  
  the problem is they started mating again today and i dont know weather to leave them together or separate them, i might only need her to get pregnant once and after that i may fix both of them.
  
  should i separate them after she gives birth? or now.

  You should separate them now, because a rabbit can become pregnant again just before or immediately after she’s given birth to a litter, and if that happens, she won’t be able to nurse the first litter properly. You can get a bunny girl spayed before she’s had any babies, it’s not necessary for her healththat she has one litter before she is spayed. Once the doe and the buck have been de-sexed and have healed (healing takes about a month), they can live together again. Male rabbits can have live sperm for one month after their neuter.
  
  If you suspect the does is pregnant, you should give her extra food, f ex pellets for young rabbits.
  9 months is very old for rabbits to start mating, a girl rabbit can get pregnant at 5 months, boys become sexually mature even sooner. Are you sure they are of opposite sexes? It’s fairly easy to see if a boy is a boy, because they have testicles, but it’s a lot less easy to see if a girl is a girl.

  Thank you so much for your reply.
  Actually they are 5 months old, Its was a typo mistake.
  I have their birth certificates, he was born in 1 September 2016 and the duo in 9 September 2016.
  I will separate them today and hopefully she wasn’t pregnant before their last mating yesterday.
