  I was pretty concerned if a GERMAN SHEPHERD PUPPY/DOG could go along well with my rabbit under my strict supervision? We don’t have a dog yet, I am just concerned.

  It depends on temperament and personality of both animals
  
  I personally believe that you shouldnt bring another animal into the house without your first animal(s) meeting them to see if they get along. If they dont get along, dont get the new pet

  I have a German Shepherd dog and she gets on very well with my bunny, meaning she’s not interested in him. Same thing when I had 2 rabbits. She wasn’t a puppy when I got the rabbits, and she’s an obedient dog. Puppies are more unpredictable, of course. It’s important that you teach the dog that the rabbit is a family member,

  My experience, mind you I’ve only been a bunny mom since October, is dogs and rabbits can be together without conflict. BUT you need to go through steps to be able to get them to free roaming with each other with strict supervision. Dogs will be dogs, they love to chase. Bilbo and Doc are hardly ever together without a cage dividing them. I either have one put up while the other is out or I have Bilbo on my lap while Doc is out. Doc is a 98 lb Labrador retriever and although he is a gentle giant, he will chase anything that runs. This could be a potential issue because he could accidentally step on Bilbo when he chases him. Doc is more interested in Bilbo’s hay and food rather than Bilbo himself. They’re both jealous boys. Doc hates Bilbo’s food, but he will chew it into pieces just to be a brat. I’ve seen several YouTube videos where dogs and rabbits live together under close supervision. It can be done and will probably be easier with a puppy since you are able to bond it to the rabbit better. They have the potential to be great friends, just make sure to follow the bonding steps:3

  Thank you for your opinions . As some of you know, my rabbit, Afroditi/Aphroditi is a girl and I am thinking to get a FEMALE German Shepherd dog. I mean, does it matter the gender of the dog? Like.. Boys are more aggressive while Girls are less aggressive and protective. I do understand dogs are dogs and they still can do something bad if left unsupervised but I am more curious if gender do matter (Like, male dog with female rabbit or female dog with female rabbit)?

  I don’t know if gender matters. My GSD is a girl. My rabbit is a boy. My dog ignores the rabbit, but eats his food if she gets the chance.

  My dog and rabbit do great together, however my bun weighs more then the dog now. I brought my bun home when the dog was 9 years old. Both my animals are spayed and neutered, and the dog relaxed more about the bun after she was spayed

  If you know where the GSD puppy is going to come from, speak to the breeder beforehand and see if they can get the puppies used to bunnies and smells at very young age, long before he comes home to you. A responsible breeder will try to help make any introduction stress free.
  
  Many have cats too so puppies get used to them and don’t chase them which can be a big problem when rehoming dogs.
