  Hello everyone,
  
  This is my second post here, i’m a new bunny owner and this is the most helpfull platform i’ve found.
  
  My bunny has been with me for about a month now. He’s getting bigger since i got him but i think his stomach is looks a little bloated. I’m not experienced with stuff like this so i cant tell if he’s just getting bigger or his stomach is bloated. For the last 3 days he has a lot of growling noises coming from his stomach. At first i didnt think much of it but yesterday and today i gave him tummy massages and he likes it a lot. It feels like he has bubbles in his stomach and i move them around when i rub his stomach. He also has been making noises a lot with his teeth. I dont know if it’s because he likes the tummy rubs or if he has any pain. I researched a lot and decided to get him infant gas drops from the pharmacy. It’s not the same brand i saw online but i read that it has simethicon in it so i think it’s the same thing. So today i tried to give him a little bit by wrapping him in one of my tshirts, he wasn’t happy with it but i think i managed to give him a tiny drop. I was just about to give him another drop after 3-4 hours, i did the same thing with my tshirt and i was about to give him a drop but he tried to bite me. And it never happened before. He did give me some licking and love biting before but it wasnt the same, he actually wanted to bite me and that worries me a lot. I’m looking for a vet nearby that has experience with rabbits but it’s not easy where i live. Do you have any advice or experience in something similar to this?
  
  Edit: I forget to mention this. I think he is eating fine but i cant really track it since i cant really tell how much he eats regularly but i always hear him eating stuff. He wasnt drinking as much water the other day but today he seems back to normal.

  Have you watched the videos on YouTube of giving your bunny’s belly a massage? Definitely worth a watch! Our girl loves them now and will even find our hands and lay on top of them when she has an upset stomach (or if she just wants a massage haha). They seem to really help too!

  Infant’s simethicone drops can be very helpful if a rabbit is having gas. Usually if they have gas, you may see them pushing their stomach into the floor or twisting or shifting their bodies, trying to get comfortable. It’s good if they move around, which helps to dispel the gas. The brand of simethicone that I use is Mylicon. The dosage is 1 ml every hour for 3 hours. Rabbits may bite when they are being restrained and a syringe is being put in their mouth, but there are going to be times when they need medicine and it’s necessary to administer it. Put the syringe in on the side of his mouth, in the gap between his front and back teeth.

  Thank you so much for the reply! I’ve been trying to give him the medicine but he resists a lot and i’m scared i’ll hurt him and also i’m a little scared he will bite me again. And the dropper on the medicine is very weird so i cant really tell if he really got the medicine. Is there any other way i can give it to him? Like add it to his water or something or put it on a treat and feed him that way?

  I think the simethicone would get too diluted if it was put in his water, but you can try putting a dose on some greens or fruit.
  
  Are you using a plunger type syringe? If that didn’t come with the medicine, maybe you could get that kind of syringe at a drug store or from a vet. Don’t push on it too quickly, but give a steady push on the plunger until it is empty. If you don’t see that it has dripped out of his mouth, then it must have gotten in him. As I said, he needs to get used to getting medicine, because there will be times in the future when he needs it or if he needs to be fed Critical Care. Wrap him in a burrito wrap (you can find online videos of that) and maybe you could have someone else hold him as you give the medicine. If he isn’t pressing his tummy into the floor or shifting uncomfortably, he may not have gas, but simethicone passes harmlessly out of the body and has no side effects, so it would be good to at least try it and see if it helps.

  What does your rabbit typically have to eat? If he is a young bunny, it can take a while for their gut to adjust to new foods.
  
  Simethicone is a useful thing to keep around! You can also try giving things like dill or carrot tops if you think he is a bit gassy & he is used to eating greens. Those are supposed to help some.
