  Where I live we’re looking to get a few inches of snow over the next few days. Olaf has always been an indoor rabbit and I thought it would be fun to fill up a box with a bit of the fluffy white stuff to see if he’s interested in hopping inside. I don’t have a yard or a space where he could run around in it (nor do I want the anxiety of outdoor activities. I’m paranoid!)
  
  Anyways, have any of you ever done this and, if so, is there anything I should be worried about? I don’t plan to let him play too long so he won’t get too chilly but I want to make sure it is safe before attempting anything new. I’ll also have fresh towels to dry him off afterwards. Yea? Nay?

  I too have wanted my bun to experience snow! That’s a good idea about putting the snow in the box instead of taking Olaf outside. Once other members weigh in, I’ll consider trying that with Luna.

  People on my FB House Rabbit group do that all the time. They fill up a big container or put some snow in the bathtub. Just make sure your bunny doesn’t get cold, obviously, and if he doesn’t seem to enjoy it, take him out. I’ve never tried my boys in snow. Bindi would most likely hate it but Sterling might enjoy it. Maybe I will bring some in during our next snow storm.

  Thanks for the suggestions! I’m glad to hear others had success with this. I’m planning on setting it out for him and letting him decide if he wants to play. He’s too curious for his own good most of the time so I have a feeling he’ll take a liking to it. I plan to have my camera set up ahead of time so I will let you know how it goes. He is a snowman after-all!

  I fill up a big tote with snow whenever possible for my three! Bombur, when not yet neutered, loved the snow a little too much. He would binky around in it, dig in it, and, well, mount piles of it Blue love, love, loves to dig through snow. Badger is easy cold and we havent had a good thick snowfall yet this year so Badger hasnt yet had much experience with it, other than an inch or two of it. He didnt really care for it, but that might change when we have more snow to offer

  Follow-up: Apparently he really just wants to eat it! He didn’t go crazy digging or anything but did like to scratch at the pile and did lots of binkies so I suppose it was a positive experience. :] Here’s a little video if you’d like to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drL8uGGg5KU

  Olaf looks so happy! The music was a cute touch too. I’m glad he had a good time. The next snowfall isn’t until Tuesday here but I can’t wait to try it with Luna!

  I just loved the video! He’s clearly having so much fun, such delicate digging at the snow too Subbed to your channel, both your videos are so well put together I don’t know how you get anything done with that cute little nose wiggling at you all day!

  My fave part is 0.42 seconds when he hops sideways into the bottom of the frame.

  Ha, Jersey! Yes, I loved that part too. He was a wild man bouncing around. And yes, the color has spread a lot for winter.

  How cute! I’ve brought snow in for Moxie in sleds before, and she really enjoyed it! I think that buns really like it when they get to dig through snow.
  
  Anyway, a random thing that I would keep in mind, is that snow can be a magnet for car exhaust fumes etc., so I would try and collect it as far away from roads/buildings that give off a lot of fumes like factories. But I wouldn’t be too concerned about it.

  Thank you, Nibbles and Moxie! A sled is a really smart idea! I appreciate the heads up, that’s good to know. I live in a pretty suburban/rural area so not too much trouble with that but a smart note to keep in mind.
