My 9 month old neutered male holland lop never pees outside his box but poop is s different story.

We hang out in the basement and he drops a few poops when he runs but not many

However when he hops up to visit me on the sofa he’ll be fine then all of a sudden he drops 20 poops all at once! What is he doing??

He did this one before when we moved into our new house he did great.
But when i had renovation work done he got stressed and peed and pooped all over my new mattress.

So is he still stressed? Or has he developed a bad habit?

How long is it since he was neutered?
If he keeps pooping put the poop in his litter box he will soon learn poop goes in there.

I’ve noticed that with my older bun (just over a yr and 90% litter trained) that he does this when he is about to pee/mark. He can be running around in his usual play area and get mostly in his litter box, but if I introduce him into a new area (or when he first discovered he could jump onto the couch!) he would get settled in, poop like crazy and then pee. Hope that helps!

I put a towel that had his scent on it on the sofa and he seemed to stop. I guess he was marking. When he gets real still i know he’s peeing. I forgot he also hopped right up on my pillow i had on sofa and peed a lake.

Hopefully the towel does the trick for the sofa. I always have to be laying on pillow or put it up.

He’s such a nut. Even though i don’t like pee or poop on my furniture he totally cracks me up. He’s such a funny bunny

When I adopted Luna, the lady mentioned rabbits mark their territory by dropping poops everywhere so I should expect her to not be an excellent litter box user the first couple days and man was she right. Now anytime I take Luna somewhere new or she goes into an area she isn’t familiar with she poops all over the place and then goes back to using her littler box once she’s adjusted. She still leaves strays from time to time but other than that she’s a near perfect litter box user. So he may just be marking his territory which would explain him going crazy with marking in the new house.
