Let me start out by saying that Pete is actually a girl, however, when we took him to get fixed he turned out to be a girl. It’s too hard to call him a her, and the name is set. Anyway, Pete is a 9 month old, 3.5 pound bun that looks just like Peter Rabbit. He’s a sweetheart but also has quite the attitude and behavior. Of course, when I try to get him out of his cage to bring him upstairs for run around time he grunts and kicks to try to get down. I know most bunnies don’t like being picked up, so I’m not too concerned about that. When I bring him upstairs and put him down he does his thump and then starts to lick me and asks to be pet, then runs around. However, I let him do his own thing and give him plenty of play area, he has to be constantly watched. It used to be terrible before he was fixed, he would constantly chew on everything and mark on the floor. The marking has since stopped, and the chewing has become less constant. He also chews the carpet. what really worries me is when he chews on things, he tends to eat it. I don’t want him eating carpet and wood with paint on it, he has plenty of toys and things for him to chew on. I know he knows what he should and shouldn’t do because if I stand up when he’s doing something wrong, he runs away. However, if he’s not doing something wrong he will either come to me or stay there if I stand up. I have tried natural chewing repellent, tape, and putting him in time out but nothing works. He actually liked the taste of the repellent (tart cherry), he would try to eat the tape, and timeout didn’t do anything. I’m out of ideas. Also, he tends to thump when nothing happens. He’ll just be roaming around and then he’ll thump, I don’t know if he’s annoyed with something or he’s doing it because he’s excited. Advice please
