At this point I’ve completely bonded with both of my buns; I’ve had Eve for three or four months and Theo for two. And I’m ashamed to say I just trimmed their nails for the first time last week. I’d attempted it before, but I was terrified I’d lose all trust I’d built with them or that I’d do it wrong. Every attempt ended after one nail getting trimmed and then letting them go because of how terribly they were panicking. Finally, I just got a thin blanket and scooped each bunny up (separately, obviously haha) and just held them tight and trimmed their nails. I felt pretty terrible; they each were clearly panicking and breathing rapidly. For the next hour, Eve ran from me and Theo just plain ignored me. But right after an hour or so had passed, they’d calmed down and acted like nothing happened and licked me and let me pet them as usual. The only advice I have is, watch demonstration videos (especially the HowCast one) for a general idea of what you’re in for, scoop Buddy up with a blanket, and endure the experience together. I know it’ll get easier each time I do it, but it really does suck, especially with new buns:/
