I was kicking around bunny number two with one ultra sweet bunny who kept capturing my heart… and it finally happened… it’s not a perfect situation. She was living in a tiny cage outside with two other does getting the snot beat out of her because she’s so dang submissive. She’s not spayed. Did a quick bunny date in my friend’s hallway. My neutered male mounted her. Then she mounted him. Then they shared some celery and basically ignored each other. That’s a good sign, right?
They’re living side by side in separate enclosures. One the plus side, there are arguably more pellets in the litter pan than out of the litter pan, which might be a vote of confidence in the right direction toward litter training. Yep, you guessed it, she’s completely wigging out at the whole ‘inside’ thing. Hope as she settles in that sweet disposition replaces her current fearful one…
Kind of at sorts between Tansy Sprout or Sorrel Sprout for her name. Your vote? She’s an American heritage breed called a Silver Fox.
Dear Lord what did I just do, LOL.

What a little sweetheart! Thank you for choosing her, it sounds like she really needed you!
It’s a good sign they shared food and ignored each other after some initial humping.
I vote Sorrel Sprout. I hope you’ll tell us lots more about her =)
Congrats! Everyone could do with an extra bunny in their life!
I pick Sorrel Sprout ![]()
Awwww she’s lovely. Snickers showed signs of having been on the wrong end of other buns when we got her, and was scared of her own shadow. Its taking time, but she is gaining confidence nicely now, and even tries to head push me out of her way now
I think Snickers was also kept in a tiny hutch, as she was permanently hunched up when we got her, and its only recently that she’s using her spine muscles properly and looking much better for it. Hopefully Tansy SS will respond to a loving home, good food, and plenty of space too
look forward to lots of updates and pictures please!
Aw, she looks sweet! I hope she becomes more relaxed. The first meeting with Tolly certainly sounds promising!
I like the name Sorrel also. Though Tolly and Tansy does go nicely together. Sorry, im not being helpful!
She certainly does look like a Silver Fox breed. Is the ticking in her coat white though. It almost looks coloured on my screen, like the gold-tipped steel colouration.
Oh my goodness, Gina!! I’m glad she’s able to flex now! That’s horrible her muscles like atrified at her last ‘home’ D:
Jerseygirl, her ticking is the silver color, she is nasty covered in urine from sitting in soaked gross straw the past few months and I am gonna pick up some baby wipes and try and wipe her down today. I know they are very clean animals, but I think she might need a little help this time hahaha Not sure when to tackle those nails exactly without over stressing her. She’s 1 or 2 years old I believe and never had her nails trimmed and always lived on wire, so not sure what shape they will be in… and that’s also why I’m stuck on her name T.T lolol
Thanks for the love/support everyone
I’m really looking forward to this journey XD
Going to stick them in the bathtub a couple times today and see how it goes LOL will keep y’all updated
Are you getting her spayed? Bonding generally works best once both buns have been altered…. (Though Podge and Gina prove every rule has its exception)
Oh poor darling. Glad she is away from those conditions. A dry Cornstarch “bath” might help freshen her up also.
HAHA well gina, speaking honestly that probably won’t happen till like tax return time in the spring haha. If she didn’t need to be separated asap then I probably would have waited until then, but the old owner didn’t have another cage to put her in, plus I’m sure it’s much nicer to spend the winter indoors than outside
The old owner isn’t a bad person, she’s one of my best friends, just keeps rabbits in a different way than I do.
Thanks for the cornstarch tip, Jersey. I keep that at the house, so I will definitely try that too! Today is meet and greet #2 and spa day ![]()
I’m for Sprouts as in just Sprouts. ![]()

Sorry to bombarded your thread but I just googled “sibling for Tolliver” and searched through all the pages that brought up and came across “kelbey” , kelbey sounds as unique as Tolliver and would go well with sprout – Kelbey sprout or kelbey bean.. and Kelbey and tolly sound cute together in my opinion ….
Hahah Oakley, I like the famous lady idea
I think I’ve settled on Tansy Thicket <3
They look kinda goofy together. Idk if they’re well matched aesthetically, but they’re cute individually and seem to get along so far in the bathtub so that’s all that matters LOL
PS- that awkward time you’re just trying to get to know the person you like but mom won’t stop taking pictures ![]()

Aww!! Sorrel is a good name. ![]()
They are so cute! Congrats on your new baby
Awwh, they’re adorable ![]()
Okay okay okay Sorrel Thicket. I’m with y’all. haha ![]()
Congrats on your gorgeous new girl!!!
My neutered male mounted her. Then she mounted him. Then they shared some celery and basically ignored each other.
That just made me laugh. Quite a first day, lol…..![]()
That’s amazing that you rescued her from such awful conditions!
I like Sorrel Thicket too
but Sorrel Sprout sounds good too.
Hope they bond well.
They are just too cute together. I’m glad it’s going well ![]()

Omg, Tolly’s ears!!!! Sooo cute
They are adorable together. I think bunnies are born to match other bunnies – no ugly couples.
Good luck with their bonding!
ADORABLE!
Hope their bonding goes smoothly!
