Cooper and Boris have been living happily in their own pens side by side for months. They seemay to get on quite well, always laying next to each other on their respective sides of the fence. Well, Cooper is now just shy of 5 months and he decided to jump the pen and meet Boris. That resulted in a whole lot of chasing and humping until I could get them separated. To prevent him from jumping we made the pen higher, about 4 feet. Cooper still attempted to jump over, but wasn’t successful, until today. I was there to witness him take a running start and completely clear 4 feet. I have been keeping one of them in their cage while the other is out, but Cooper still insists on being near boris while in the cage. Our bonded trio lives above Boris, and they have not been happy to have Cooper all up in their buisness.

We had been hoping to bond Boris and Cooper eventually, but I feel like I need to start the process sooner. They are both big buns (continental giant and FleMish giant) and like their pen time during the day. I feel bad having to keep one cooped up.

I have bonded two neutered males, and then later a spayed female to them. However, I’m not sure how to go about bonding with all these hormones Cooper has. Neutering him is not an option as he has a heart murmur and congenital heart disease. The vet did clear him for being bonded with Boris, and even said it could help reduce the stress on his heart when it’s all said and done.

Does anyone have experience bonding an unneutered male to a neutered male or even female?
Any suggestions for slow bonding with minimal stress?
Also maybe some suggestions for a 5 foot way of dividing our bunny room.
