  Hi there ,
  I am getting two lop babies ( over there I believe you call them holland lops – here in nz we call them mini lops but they aren’t as big as your mini lops – they will reach a maximum of 1.6kg ( 3.5lbs) which I believe is what size you’re hollands are?)
  Anyway I have purchased one of these ( biggest hutch you can get in nz ) and my plan is to get another the same and take on of the metal bar sides out and join the two together by a tube – this will make it 190cm x 60 cm ( 6 foot by 2ft )
  We have a play pen for evening binkys and it will be in the lounge with access to their hutch ( also in lounge ) , I cannot have them in the playpen other than evenings as I have young kids I don’t want trying to get in to them all day long
  I’ve lined the floor , double sided taped it down , sealed it , then wood beaded the edges so no chewing ( pic of that attached )

  Hi and welcome to Binky Bunny! Yes, in the US, holland lops are the smallest lops, around 3.5 pounds. Before your bunnies reach 12 weeks of age, you will need to separate them to prevent pregnancy and fighting which can occur when they reach puberty and the hormones come flooding in. Hopefully, you will be able to separate the hutches and put the ends back on to make them into two pens again. They also will have to have separate play and exercise time until they have been spayed and neutered and a month or so has passed. Once you have put them into separate pens, they can be in the same room, but don’t have the pens touching each other, because rabbits can manage to mate through cage bars.

  Their future habitat sounds great – I recycled a living room dresser and made it a bunny home….

  Could a admin please delete this thread as I started a new account as I went to meet the litter for first time today and a different bunny chose us instead while we were there!
