        Hi everyone,

I was wondering if rabbits can catch human colds, fevers, diseases, etc. I know that herpes, or HSV, is contagious and can cause severe head tilt in rabbits, but what about the common human cold or fever?

Cold? No. You don’t have anything to worry about.

Cold viruses are as a rule species specific. There are some flu viruses that can cross the species barrier (bird flu, pig flu, the 1918 Spanish flu), but those that do become very famous and there are epidemiologists all over the world monitoring the evolution of flu viruses.
