I really like that approach, to prevent it rather than to wait and see if it happens, unfortunately I honestly don’t know where I went wrong. They had unlimited timothy hay in their hay rack and I put a fresh pile on their litter box every day, they had limited pellets every day, they had a random mix of cilantro, romaine lettuce, kale, parsley, or mint every day, fresh water, etc. They lived in a c&c cage and I let them out in the morning and at night for a couple hours, they were bonded, and one day, he just dropped! He looked sick, didn’t want to move, and wouldn’t eat anything, by the time the vet saw him she already said there was no hope! I would love to go through the route of preventing it but bloat is just a disease that doesn’t have a specific cause, Cookie and Cream had the same care, and Cream is still living and eating and pooping but Cookie did not make it… They were the same age, came from the same mom.. I just don’t get life sometimes.. lol.. but anyways he’s okay now, hes not in pain, hes resting now. I just want to know what a bunnies tummy feels like so I could check up on Cream every day as a preventative thing? Say if I know it shouldn’t feel a certain way then I can take precaution and take him to the vet early, you know?
