Hi everyone.
I have read through many of these forums in the past but this is my first time posting so I’m sorry if this isn’t the right place for my question.
I have had my Ollie for over 2 years now and have recently come to terms with the fact that I cannot provide him with the proper care and attention he needs for his unique situation. Ollie has seizures in stressful situations which Did not start happening until this past year. They don’t happen often but when they do they are because he has been badly spooked by a loud unexpected noise. These seizures are really scary when they happen and he is exhausted Afterwords.
In this past year Ollie and I have gone through a lot of changes, the biggest being moving to Toronto. Here he is thought of as an exotic and it means his vet bills are beyond my means as I have recently started back at school for my masters.
I have reached out to rabbit rescue but they are at full capacity. At this point I am not sure where to turn and am looking for advice. I don’t want to give him to someone who is not rabbit savvy through an online post and the humane society is definitely a last resort.
His seizures would not be an issue if it wasn’t for my current living situation. I am living in a basement apartment and cannot control what noises come from outside my apartment. I think that because he also doesn’t have a lot of space or time to run around he has a lot of pent up energy which may be making his situation worse.
Do you guys have any suggestions for where I can look for a better home for my little buddy? He really is family to me and a sweet little thing, I just know that it would be selfish to keep him given the situation. I want him to have somewhere he can roam stress free and be given the time, love, and care he needs.
