Chewie did a back flip out of my arms once and landed flat on his little back. Straight to the vet, frantic and in tears, while he happily sniffed around her office. Little weirdo. Scared a decade off my life.

It’s cute though. When I get up in the mornings and feed the zoo, Guin waits for me and rushes my ankles. I usually have a fresh bowl of water, a bag of vegetable greens, a scoop of pellets, and a plate of fruit (for the birds) all balance in my hands/arms. And then Guinivere is at my ankles. It makes me nervous coz sometimes she just sniffs and nudges, but othertimes she nips. So I dance over the 28-inch tall divider fence to the other side of the rabbit room, feed the birds their fruit, half the pellets to the other 2 rabbits, half the veggies to them, and then back over the divider fence, pellets and greens to Guin, and make sure she doesn’t nip my ankle or cause me to lose my balance. One time there was a bird cage on the floor with a bird in it, Guin was at my ankles, I was trying to get over the fence, I lost my balance and fell and squished the bird cage. Bird was fine. Rabbits were fine. I got a bruise… cage was squished.

My buns do this all the time to the point i subconsciously shuffle now instead of walk when they are free roaming the living room lol. They still run into my feet, but instead of me falling over them, or accidentally kicking them, they just get lightly nudged to the side while i shuffle along

this isn’t under my feet but my buns seem to know when I’ve laid something to the side for a second. especially baby gates and brooms. they seem to say “ooooo momma you didn’t secure that! here let me remind you by making it fall over and giving you a heart attack!” the most that has ever happened is a bun gets a tap on the but from the falling object as they scramble out of the way. even if im just moving it aside for 1 second and plan to secure it back when I’m done it sets their bunny alarm off for something they can knock over! that or they decide to hop onto the bed right as I go to sit down and I end up doing an awkward roll to avoid sitting on a buns head! then when mommy falls off the bed there’s 2 little bunny faces looking down at me as if to say “silly mommy! we wanted to sit here!”

I have this problem when it comes to pellet time. Because I have to step over the playpen fence to feed them their pellets and they’re super excited, they’re often running circles right where I’m trying to step over, so I have to make sure I’m really well balance before reaching my leg over so I don’t need to put a lot of weight on it in case one of them happens to end up under my foot.

Sure they can get in the way, but I think it’s super cute so wouldn’t have it any other way.
