Hello,
My bunny is named Ciabatta. She is a 2 year old neutered female dutch. I adopted her form the shelter 1 year ago and she has been in great health since.
A couple of days ago I noticed she wasn’t eating her carrots and less of the pellets. She still ate her kale, parsley and hay. Her poops and energy level was normal so I watched for a couple of days. She seemed to be ignoring hard foods which made me concerned she had a dental issue. And once I gave her a raisin and she ate it but shook her head oddly for a few seconds.
Last night she seemed much better. I bought new carrots in case the other ones were bad in some way and she ate 2 of the 4! Though she does usually eat all of them…
She also ate a hard treat no problem. She still sort of stayed away from the pellets. Though it is hard to tell since they are the healthy kind and she only eats little bitefuls. She chewed her toys and some wood on her cage as per usual with no issue.
With that info in mind, should I still have the vet check her out? Or give it some more time to observe her?
The dentist happened to have an appointment this afternoon so I’m debating just going in case. They aren’t there over the weekend.
But Ciabatta HATES the carrier and traveling. I don’t want to scare her for nothing, not to mention the big price tag on vet visits.
Thoughts?
