Hello all,
My bunny Ciabatta is a 2 year old neutered female dutch. I rescued her from the shelter about a year ago and she has been in great health since.
On Wednesday I noticed that she didn’t eat any of her carrots which she usually loves and barely any pellets. We use very healthy pellets so she was never big into them but usually ate a little bit at breakfast. She was all over the kale, parsley and hay though. Her poops and energy were normal. It was just hard foods and this continued into Thursday so I worried that maybe she had a dental issue. I also gave her a raisin and she ate it but then was shaking her head oddly for a few seconds.
Just in case I bought new carrots Thursday night in case something was wrong with them. And she eventually did eat two of the new ones. But not the full 4 which is her usual. She did eat a hard treat no problem. So she seems on the upswing.
The vet had an opening this afternoon – is it worth getting her checked out? Or was that just a random off day and now that shes being more normal I should just watch her for awhile? I’m torn. Part of me thinks might as well take a check but the other part knows she HATES getting in the carrier and traveling and it also costs a good $100 for a check up.
Thoughts?
