It would be a lot better to wait until she has been spayed, before you get a companion for her. The first step in bonding is always for both rabbits to be spayed and neutered. You could probably bond a very young rabbit to another rabbit, but when she hits puberty, she will get hormonal no matter if she is with a male or a female, and you would have to separate the rabbits at that point. Instead of starting to bond them, then having to separate them in a few weeks, it would make much more sense to wait to get her a companion. Spend as much time as possible with her. There are some rabbits that are the sole animal in the house and they are happy with that as long as they have a lot of companionship with their people. Most rabbits do love to have another rabbit companion, but your bunny should be fine without one until she is old enough to be spayed. It would be great if you could adopt a neutered male for her from your shelter. If there was one there now that you really liked, you could go ahead and adopt him, but you would need to keep them in separate pens until your bunny has been spayed and recuperated.
