So I’ve been away the past two weeks or so, and my family were minding my rabbits.
On Thursday my mam noticed Sampras sneezing, and brought him to the vet. They said it looked like it was caused by compaction of food into the hole where his teeth used to be. They gave him oral dose of baytril and sent him and my mom home, told her to come back a week later.
She brought him back yesterday morning becsuse he was struggling to breathe, where they said he had a URI , gave him an injection of baytril and steroids to reduce the swelling in his nose, and were bringing him back today.
When asked about probiotics they said a good diet would be better for him.
He’s on burgess hay, and eats Selective food, which although maybe not the best best food, its Bette err than what a lot of rabbits are fed here. He normally gets fresh veg too but he’s off then due to a sticky bottom.
His breathing is horrendously laboured, and he keeps trying to sneeze out the blockage in his nose, any suggestions to help ease it for him? He really doesn’t want me touching it as the skin is sensitive from being rubbed at and wet with discharge.
