  Hello All, I would really need some help. Does anyone got the same problems as me ?
  
  My bunny, Mocha have been suffering from a rare skin diseases for a while. I have brought to it 3 vets but none can help or identify what is wrong with him.

  We first discovered the condition when the groomer we hire every one to two months pointed out a wound on his right thigh when he was cutting his fur. Initially after grooming, the wound was bleeding horribly and we brought it to a vet immediately that night after my parents were back from work.
  
  The first vet we went to was not a rabbit savvy one (I didn’t realise the importance of being one until later). She gave us some eye gel and manuka honey to apply on his wounds and diagnosed his condition as being itchy and the wounds self-inflicted. We followed her instructions but our rabbit did not recover so we brought it to the second vet.

  The second vet diagnosed it as having a bacterial infection and gave us antibiotic and a anti-bacterial shampoo which she told us to bathe it twice a week. The vet also did a fungal test and noted that it was not a fungal infection. We followed her instructions and the rabbit’s condition worsen drastically. Desperate, we went to another vet.

  The third vet we went to was a rabbit savvy one. They gave us injections and antibiotics for the rabbit. Our rabbit is still not recovering and we are at lost for what we can do now. Our parents have already gave up and want to put him to sleep.

  Was the injections the 3rd vet gave an anti-parasitic medicine? Like Ivermectin? Did this vet take any samples to determine what may be affecting your boy? I’d be looking at *possibly* something like mange mite (aka scabies) or *possibly* rabbit syphillis (treatable with course of penicillin g injections) though this is not typical presentation on rabbit syphillis.

  ETA: It is possible the leg wound is self inflicted if he is highly irriated by the skin condition.

  Just reading this and his condition does look similar to fungal infection in the photos. There is a note that getting sample & growing a culture is not always reliable.

  It almost looks liked advanced and scabbed ring worm to me. My boyfriend sister’s guinea pigs have been having a very bad skin condition that looks very similar to your bunnies. The vet had no idea what it was either but prescribed an antifungal medication that helped a little bit. My boyfriends sister then started having a bit of skin problems as well, and they found out that it was ring worm, and her piggies likely had it as well. It might be something to ask the vet about along with the things Jerseygirl mentioned
