We got our 2 bunnies biscuit and booboo not related at 10 weeks old they had been bonded with the breeder and happily lived together in the double hutch cuddled together sharing food paws over each other until the dreaded hormones kicked in. Both buns are girls biscuit was constantly mounting booboo who just sort of sat there. We didn’t want this behaviour to turn aggressive so had both girls spayed at the same time. They went to the vets together and came home together unfortunately within 24 hrs of the op we had to take biscuit back as she wasn’t eating weeing or pooing. Booboo went with her however we were advised to seperate them that night for a few days so we could monitor biscuits food intake as she was being shringe fed and to check hEr output so we put the flap down in the hutch and kept one in the top and one in the bottom each with own litter tray. After a week we made the mistake of letting them both out into the run together where biscuit just went for booboo. So after researching we decided to wait 6 weeks for after the op and during that time they have been left out individually and sniffed at the hutch etc. 5 weeks on we started to swap them around in the hutch and give each other the others litter tray. Last week we sat each bunny on our knees until for about 10 mins until they came together cuddling again. So pleased to see it. Yesterday they were quite happy to sit together on knees and then one jumped down to run around booboo then followed after about 5 mins biscuit then started to chase booboo around and nipping her fur pulling until we had a fur ball circle so had to seperate them again. What do people suggest now?
