  I really want to give my two some more space to live in than just their cages, and it’d be nice to be able to bond them at some point, but my problem is that my mum’s cat is very temper-mental. We can’t trust him to be near the bunnies at all because with us, he can randomly come up to you and strike you for no reason and there has been times where Thumper has been in a pen and he’d stalk round it, like he’s sizing up his prey. The problem is, I’ve been looking online at different pens and enclosures and they all seem to be wired bars, which allows for a cat paw to get through. I can’t move the buns to a different room because our current house is only a 2 up, 2 down kind of house with an awkward shaped living room and there isn’t any room in my bedroom (plus I’d like them to stay downstairs where we can interact with them for most of the day.)
  
  Does anyone know of something that’d fit my needs for the bunnies?

  The traditional style x-pens are really the most versitile. Easier to pack away and travel with if required. Personally, I’d stick with those but then line each panel with either aviary mesh or coroplast.
  
  I know you can get tops for the midwest pens. The top being same material as the pen panels, so nice and solid. There are probably other brands that have this too.
  
  They’re 2 cute bunnies! I particularly liked the pic of the cat looking in the window and oblivious to Angel staring him down. :p

  You can easily built a makeshift pen like I did (I needed a specific custom size): I used a wooden base, then mounted 4 posts on the 4 corners of the base and secured metal chicken wire all around. The cage is inserted on one side and is tied to the posts + secured with more chicken wire. To keep the cat at bay, you can top the upper part of the pen with more wire. The whole ordeal costed me about 50€ and some sweat, so I think it’s fair.

  @Mel94, I saw banister protector was mentioned by JackRabbit in another thread. Another material that could be used to line pen panels provided it stands up to kitty claws and bunny teeth.
