So next week Ben is getting an xpen. I am very exited because Bens previous owner gave him a cage but it’s not that big. With an xpen.. That’s a different story. He will be so much more comfortable! Is there anything I should get him before the xpen? Should I get him a bed? Any advice for xpen A would be greatly appriciated.

          Hi!
Do you have a place to keep your bunny while you wait for the xpen? Before I got mine, my bunny spent his nights in his cage while free ranging during the day. He should have a place to stay, rather than running around – maybe a small room, or a cage?
In my bunny’s xpen, there’s the basics: water bottle, litter box, hay feeder. There’s also a wooden bendy bridge and cardboard box for him to hide in. I’ve also put in some toys like chews, toilet paper rolls and an old Yellow Pages book for him to chew. I placed a thin cloth over the top to stop him from jumping over. If your bunny’s an escape artist like mine, I suggest putting a clip on the door of the cage. My bunny likes to try and lift the cage when he wants out, and if there’s no clip, the pen just swings open.
You could add things like a fleece (if the room has a hard surface), small animal tent, sandboxes, plastic igloos and newspaper mats. It all depends on the size of your xpen, where you will put it and what your bunny likes. For more ideas, you can google ‘xpen’ and check out the images.

All the best with moving your bunny into an xpen!

A tunnel is often really appreciated by a bun! There are cat tunnels or you can use a cardboard casting tube. I have one of those, I’ve made a “window” in the middle of it where the bun can stick out his little head and check for predators (not that there are any predators, but buns still like to make sure).

I do have a place. A cage that he had since he was a small baby. It’s a decent size, he can stand up in it, he can lay down. But we want to move him in something bigger for the school year coming up and almost no one home to let him out
