That is so cute, JG. Boopersnout is one of the best bunny names I’ve ever heard!

Have a cute pic of Theo chilling in his tent, it melts my heart when he loafs in there. He’s a grumpy bun today because he’s just back from the vets – he had a check up and nail clipping just but the vet gave him a really thorough once over and listened to his belly – all seems good after his little bout of tummy trouble which is great. 

And he’s lost 150 g yay!

He LOVES his new probiotics – as in I sprinkle a scoop over his pen with his breakfast in the morning and he seeks them all out before eating his pellets!   They seem to be helping though

@jerseygirl: this is so so true! Breintje is utterly adorable in full destruction modus. He sometimes does that when I have guests, some of my friends are a bit hyperactive and Breintje picks up their energy. Luckily I have a tangerine crate and several cardboard boxes in the house. They all get a fierce nibble when he has tempers. One of my friends calls him little booplesnoot

@theo: Aww, he looks so sweet and comfy there. Glad to hear that his tummy troubles seem to be gone!

After a bad weekend and a fysio session I got new pain meds today, which are working really well. Such a relief  They’re making me a bit dizzy and sluggish though. Couch time… Breintje decided that this was the perfect time for an extended petting session. Afterwards he was so relaxed that I could give him a massage, and he slowly drifted off Made my morning!

Love that, Jersey. I saw that on FB and, of course, had to repost.

Theo and Breintje are so cute. Chewie had one of those little tents (in blue) but his foster sister Teyla loved it so much that I sent it along with her when she found a forever home.

I call Chew “booplesnoot” when we do eskimo kisses.

So glad to hear Theo is doing so much better and has lost 150 grams! My buns love their probiotic pellets too, I have to scatter them because they pounce on them like little furry piranhas.

Here’s Yohio muching on an apple twig. His mega moult has resulted in the loss of all the light fluffy hair on his back so only the peach- coloured fuzzy hair is left. He’s still cute though  (I admit I’m a tiny bit partial)

jerseygirl, my bun last year wanted to murder with all his might a feral cat that showed up at our holiday’s place garden. They engaged in the usual pre-fight stuff and two minutes later the cat ran away to never come back…. all of this while Kuro was uber sick because of his teeth problems. I don’t want to imagine what he’ll try to take on this year since he’s now healthy XD

Also: meh I’m so bummed I don’t know any other bunny owners close to me ;_; I wanna pet all of the fluffballs

On an unrelated note – right after our morning kissykissy session on the rug, I saw a hopper making its way toward Chewie’s snack box. It’s the fourth one in the past couple of weeks, and I’m at a total loss as to how/why it’s here. We usually get massive swarms seaside every few years, but it’s not a swarm year. Furthermore, it’s really late in the summer for them, AND my flat is now hermetically sealed except for drains (which have covers, so not possible) and ceiling airvents (which is too gross and creepy to fathom). Needless to say, the blasted crawley bug got wooshed by the handheld vac right from under Chewie’s nose.

Mimzy is like Bindi. Always just looks so super sweet. Hope he’s recovering well. Bindi is at the vet today for his dental. And Fiver looks adorable. Mini-Rex’s are supposed to be a bit chubby. I have such a soft spot in my heart for them. One of the most beautiful breeds, IMO. And Jenna and Pip cute as always. I hope everyone is well at your house!

@Reese: awww, I just melted a bit ^_^ It’s so wonderful to see a kitty/bunny friendship!

In the meantime I’ve taken refuge at my BF’s place. I live on the outskirts of the city, close to the forests and just 5 minutes by bike away from the abandoned airforce base. A “music” festival was planned there for this weekend, blasting the whole area with loud thumping bass. It’s surrounded by protected forests with endangered species of wildlife and several nature organisations tried to stop it by going to court, but to no avail… This morning I went home for a quick shower and a change of clothes, and the wine glasses and teacups were ringing in the cupboards. I’m happy that I took our little one somewhere else, because he’d have gone wild with stress. Not that he hasn’t gone wild tonight…

He stays in my BF’s bedroom, and at 4:30 he decided that it was a perfect time to test his emergency paths. So I had a bun sprinting, jumping and crawling everywhere. I’ve also been honored with at least 5 surprise face-licking sessions in the middle of the night. Oh well, just for this weekend it’s fine to have a few broken nights…he was soooo cute ^_^ Took some pictures to show to my BF who’s in Canada now. My phone is exceptionally bad in low-light, but here they are:

So I was asked on FB why I don’t post many pics of Bindi. They wanted to know if Sterling was my new favorite. Absolutely not. I love both my boys. I don’t post a lot of pics of Bindi, honestly, because he is rather sickly looking. He’s not, he’s fine but since he can’t groom himself very well, he’s pretty much yellow. That coupled with his chronic runny eyes. I don’t want people to think he is sick or think badly about his looks. I just adore my little man, no matter how dirty he gets. He’s a scruffy, little ball of love.

I know Vienna – his white paws are a mystery to me! He is just so obsessively clean.
@LPT – don’t worry about people on Facebook they can be so unkind. I’ve only recently joined a couple of rabbit groups and they are so unfriendly sometimes. Bindi is a total cutie – the ironic thing is the very people who are asking why you don’t post pics are probably the people who would make comments or assumptions based on his looks. Plus Sterling is so handsome you just have to share him!

I was going through my pictures of Sage and came across these…they are sort of the same shot but 3 1/2 weeks apart.  I thought it was neat that you could see a few differences….

As a former intellectual property lawyer, I can tell you that writing the word “copyright” and some years means nothing in legal terms. Copyright cannot be registered via a statement. It automatically comes into legal existence when an original expression of an idea is expressed to a public.

As such, BB can write or not write “Copyright 20etc” – it won’t affect its legal rights.

Hihi, the comic is sooooo true ^_^ Breintje kept me up last weekend when we stayed at my BF’s room. Very cute, but I couldn’t stand being woken up like that 5 times a night O.o

Reese: Epic. Fail. To notice.

Sammy would wake me by thumping in the middle of the night whenever she heard my Dad, who needs help if he has to get out of bed. She would hear him try, thump to wake me, and I would get to him in time to assist. She was so great at that. I think it stressed her out because she crossed the bridge during the month he was in rehab last year. She got a GI tract illness. I really miss her caring for him with me. (He is great now, btw. Spike loves him, too, but doesn’t thump.)

I wish I could have bunnies in the bedroom to snuggle with! I would be the one waking the bunnies up at 4:45am

I kept Reese’s hutch open last night, and all she did was sit right in front of my face, keeping me up with her tickley whiskers! She wanted to be pet a lot, which is strange, because she never wants to be petted any other time Lol.

It’s been a hot summer in Nova Scotia and Chester has been relaxing with his frozen water bottle a lot!

He’s also been extra cuddly with me and wants all the love!

PS: I’m on thesis vacation. Live is good again

Yohio wakes me up every morning. He has a variety of tricks to get me out of bed. If tickling me with his whiskers doesn’t help he does zoomies across the bed or start throwing his cardboard houses around. Relentlessly.

Is it bad that my Rabbit is 2 years and has only molted once?

I’ve heard that babies don’t have such elaborate moults as adults. Wouldn’t worry about it.

Here’s Breintje furiously digging in to his evening salad. I just love the sound of him munching, it sounds so…gezellig? Gezellig is a Dutch word which has no translation to English. It’s the cozy feeling of comfort being at home with friends and loved ones, but with a stronger emotional feel to it than the word “cozy”.

@ReeseBun, just consider yourself lucky Chester’s molts have become more and more ridiculous over time!

Indeed it is, lasts him over a day. Breintje is binkying every time he hears the crisper drawer of my fridge, because he knows a feast is coming up ^_^ We’re cutting down on pellets and are upping his rations of veggies and hay as the vet adviced. Last year he was very overweight at 1,6 kilos, but he’s down to 1,3 now. Still some way to go, 1,2 kilos is his optimal weight. We’re very pleased, but he’s not. He’s a hungry bunny who prefers pellets over hay and will will have tantrums if he doesn’t get more. He’s banging his feed bowl against his cage as we speak. Sorry bun… let them eat hay!

Aww, Olaf is such a filmstar! I love his binkies Can’t wait to show this to my boyfriend.

Lol…@ Q8 and Jerseygirl: I don’t believe in physical discipline with my animals….when Walker was a pup a little squirt of water would snap him out of whatever he was getting into…now all you have to do is have the water bottle in the vicinity and he behaves. I had to label it because my husband almost shot Walker with my Odoban once….doesn’t matter that the bottles are different colors…so now he knows to look for Walkers name on it.

@pinknfwuffy: that video is too cute!!! Sage does the zoomies and binkies from one end of the bed to the other but every time I go for the camera she stops and strikes a pose instead!!! lol .

LuvFurBabies: Thank you! Olaf is the same. I had to sit sit around with my camera ready to catch him. He would stop and stare as if I caught him in the act. :]

I don’t know for sure what his breed is because he was found abandoned. He has classic Californian markings but is small for the breed with shorter ears. Himalayan rabbits are similar but his colored points aren’t as dark as those normally are. My best guess is either a Californian runt or mix.

The fleece forests are popular in the guinea pig community so I have to give them all the credit, but I figure, why should piglets have all the fun? Zoomies through a forest of fabric are pretty entertaining. Since mine is blue it looks a bit like a car wash. :]

LOL about the carwash. I was in one just yesterday giving Kermit his first bath, and I totally thought “This must be what Chewie loves about his fleece forest” I found him in it when I woke up this morning. Might’ve spent the whole night there for all I know. lol

Speaking of zoomies. I’m on the right side of the sofa for my BB morning catchup. Chewie vaulted beside me for some chin rubs and kisses, and then decided it would be fun to do zoomie laps from the left side of the sofa (which is actually extended by a giant suitcase hidden/squished between the wall and the sofa itself) and my feet (which are tucked up beside me). I suspect his game was – how close can I zoom toward mommy without touching her feet? Of course, once I started laughing and saying Peekaboo!, he went nuts and started throwing in headtosses and popcorning at me. Eventually he tired himself out and flopped belly up on top of the suitcase. Funny bunny.

Ha! Chewie sounds like an awesome sprinter. I always wonder what must be going on in their minds when they go nuts like that. So happies! So excited! I just got to let it all out! Maybe it’s our equivalent of happy dancing? I’m so glad he enjoys the forest that much, too. Watching them discover new things is the best. I bet that flop felt so good. :]

I finished an iPad watercolour painting this morning and I thought I’d share it with you guys, since I used a picture of Chewie as my model.

In case anyone’s interested, I use an art app called Tayasui Sketches 2 Pro and a Sensu stylus brush. I cannot draw or paint in real life – only my beloved iPad and this app allow me to create a watercolour painting layer by painstaking and yet forgiving layer until it looks the way it does in my mind.

LOL – And Mosby is cool with the little troublemaker too?… he’s a cool cat !! LOL

Oh yeah, they love to play together. At least for about a minute or so, that’s right around the time Mosby gets his butt handed to him. Bubbles weighs only a couple of pounds, Mosby is around 10 at the moment, and still, that ferret totally dominates him. He’ll pin him down and then Mosby will start whining and I have to go save him. Of course, ten seconds later, he goes right back.

Nice dandelion score! That should last Zou at least a week!

Niamain – she is! She’s our first bunny. We got her five years ago as a baby and it started a whole addiction! A love interest we never knew we had.

Is there a story to her name – or did you (not surprisingly! lol) not find any body parts to prove it was boy or girl….

Vienna….we started talking about getting a bunny a few months before we found her. The two stipulations were it had to be a lop and it’s name would be Bruno (despite sex). I picked the name from a quirky little dance judge from Dancing With the Stars, Bruno Tonneoli. We have a habit of choosing names before we meet the bunny. Like we have names picked out for a future flemmie pair, Leonidas and Xerxes. Our bridge bunny Biscuit was named before we met too.

You’re absolutely, 100% sure that Bruno is a bunny? She’s too funny.

Azarene – I cannot say with 100℅ certainty that Bruno is a rabbit.

But we bought her as a “rabbit” so here’s hoping … Lol

I’ll have to get my hands on one of those beds. Seen them before. But does anyone have a bun that likes to nap there? Just curious.

Chewie has both napped on and chewed it – but it’s ok, because it’s his bed.

Vienna: most of my house is IKEA. LOL

In the meantime Breintje is driving us crazy by being stuck in his moult. Fur flying everywhere but he doesn’t seem to be out of the moult anytime soon. He’s itching and clearly disgruntled but he won’t let me brush or touch his butt, the little prude… He has tufts sticking out, semi-bald spots and nearly 4 colours. He looks quite ragged right now, like being overrun by a lawn mower. I guess we’ll just have this phase out, although he’s been at it for weeks now.

Chewie just finished a moult and his skin must’ve been extra sensitive what with the dry AC air, poor bug, because he wouldn’t sit to be brushed for more than a few moments. I had to resort to feeding him treats with my left hand while literally plucking him with my right.

Zou seems extremely sensitive at the rear end as well, I have to give her a good old scratch and then when I pull my hand away I move it into a fist shape and just ‘happen’ to get a handfull of tufts…

Don’t forget to cover the eyes and put them into trance status while you’re having a gentle pluck !!!

“I’m not a bunny plucker, I’m a bunny pluckers son….” ….. tut, nope it doesn’t work – it’s just not rude – I tried out loud !!! (bet you will too now if you know what i’m talking about !!) LOL

I pluck fur from mine too, it works better than brushing/lint-rolling for a really heavy shed. Both mine have been shedding like crazy this summer. I don’t know why, it’s not been a hot summer at all.

This must be a popular moult time because Reese is stuck in her moult right now. A part on her back is just really short hair, and everywhere else is super fluffy.

Maybe it’s just one global conspiracy and they all have bought stocks in the lint roller companies.. O_0 Breintje, please don’t retire to Fuji without me!

Came in this morning to this….hmmmm I don’t know but I am starting to think she may be a little spoiled…lol

oh well…I love her to death so treated like a queen she will be!

Lol Ellie, that sounds like a something buns would do.
However Redford is by far the Worst moulter! Some of you may remember his zombie bun pics. But he has the sweetest fur right now and not even the sign of a new moult ture.

And that is great napping place guys now I’ll definitely have to find one for mine. However they like to share the bed, so don’t know it’s gonna be enough for them.

Oh and LFB8 she is quite the queen!

Yup, it’s mega molt time here too. Chester has been ridiculous for the past month, with a little skirt of fur on him bum! It’s an exceptionally hot year here.

Nothing beats a nap in bed! Chester only does that when I’m on the bed too, usually reading. When he sneaks on to the bed without me it’s usually for zooms binkies

Now that I think of it, the reason Chewie doesn’t get a proper skirt during a moult is because he drags his fluffy belly all over the sofa, the shaggy wool rugs, and my bed during his yoga stretches.

Albus, once he was feeling better.

Charlie snuck into our bed when my wife was having a nap. He woke up briefly for the camera and dropped off again. Yes, he’s actually under the covers.

Today during indoor run around, George found the box we store the hay in.

And Charlie seemed to have missed me because he followed me wherever I went in the house. Video is short because it cut out as my phone has almost no memory left. You get the idea, though.

Reese, what a cutie! Aussies are Aussome, I think that’s how they got their name?? Pups do tend to either be hyperactive or sleep. It’s when they are neither you should worry, because then they’re probably chewing on somebody’s glasses or the TV-remote (yes, been there.)
